Cheryl Cole homecoming tour tickets selling for below face value

Cheryl Cole is struggling to shift tickets for her upcoming arena tour, with passes for concerts in her hometown of Newcastle selling for as little as £25.

The Under The Sun singer has scheduled two shows at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena in October, forming part of her first solo headline tour of the UK.

But it seems demand is not overwhelming for the Geordie singer's homecoming, with ticket prices being slashed to considerably below face value.

Viagogo, Europe's largest ticket marketplace, has revealed that tickets for the shows are selling for just £25 – way below the £50+ asking price for tickets to the concerts of most high profile pop stars.

'It seems that the saying is ringing true - you can't sell Cole to Newcastle,' said viagogo spokesman Ed Parkinson.

'We're really surprised to see that even top seats are selling for less than their face value for Cheryl's upcoming tour dates and anyone looking to bag a last-minute bargain could get themselves some amazing seats.'

Showing off her third album A Million Lights, Cheryl will play 11 arena dates across the UK, kicking things off in Belfast on October 3.

Cheryl Cole appeared in public in a sling this week, having injured her arm in a car crash which occurred en route to McDonald's.
