Healthy eating

If you follow some simple tips and plan a healthy diet you can do wonders for your body’s health.

Eating healthy is not about strict rules, staying extremely thin or depriving yourself of the food you like. It’s more about feeling good, energetic, stabilizing your mood and keep in shape. You can do all of these by following some basic tips. Plan small steps rather than a drastic change and you can have a healthy diet sooner than you think.

The most important element to keep in mind is that moderation is the key. The moderate amount depends on every person and its eating habits. The goal is to establish a diet to maintain for all your life, not only a few weeks or a few months. Moderation is not eating less than we eat now, but eating less unhealthy foods.

Try not to ban some stuff from your diet because you will want them more, just reduce the amount and times you eat that type of foods. Also, serve smaller portions and if you are not satisfied at the end add some leafy vegetables to complete the meal.

As important as what we eat is how we eat. Regarding the way we see food it can be helpful to eat with others, take time to savor our food and thoroughly chew it, enjoying every bite. Also, it is important to have breakfast and small meals during the day, avoiding food at night.

Another step is to eat more healthy carbs and to increase the amount of colorful fruits and vegetables we eat. Good carbs include whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables. These can make you feel full longer because are slowly digested. Colorful fruits and vegetable contain a bigger quantity of vitamins, minerals and antioxidant.

These tips are only the beginning. Choose what to do next in order to have a healthy diet.
