"Iron Man 3" still in the lead

Marvel’s movie is still topping the Box Office even if this was the third weekend from its release.

“Iron man 3” is an American superhero film and it created a true madness since its release. It was converted to 3D in post-production and the world premiere was on April 25, 2013. The US success recorded $175.3 million in its opening weekend, $72.5 million in its second one and this weekend brought Marvel $89.3 million. Globally, the total was of $949 million, meaning it should cross the $1 billion mark early this week. It broke the record for the second biggest box office debut.

The movie stayed on top for three weeks in a row and kept the new released movie “The Great Gatsby” on second place.

Even if Baz Luhrman’s adaptation will open the Cannes Film Festival it still didn’t manage to beat the Iron Man 3 in the weekend it had debuted.

Tony Stark, the main character, is played by Robert Downey Jr and the story depicts his odyssey in rebuilding the world as he knew and that was destroyed by a terrorist called the Mandarin.

He is a rich and powerful man, a self-described genius with mechanical suits of armor as his own invention. Stark is fighting to save the close ones without all the resources he used to have and starts a pursuit to find those who are responsible and make them pay. The great cast includes Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia "Pepper" Potts, Stark's girlfriend, longtime associate, and CEO of Stark Industries, Guy Pearce as the Mandarin and Don Cheadle as Col. James "Rhodey" Rhodes, Stark’s best friend.
